My Christmas Articles!
I have written a number of Christmas and holiday related hubs lately on Hubpages and just wanted to share them all in one place! I cover a number of aspects about the holidays from appetizers, to gifts, to movies and even photos.
If you are looking for a healthy appetizer for a holiday get together, or even just a healthy snack try my recipe for stuffed celery. A Healthy Holiday Appetizer: Stuffed Celery
If you are low on cash but still looking for some ways to decorate this holiday season read my article on Holidays and a Recession: Low Budget Christmas Decorations
Now that you have food and decorations taken care of, you need some gifts. Instead of giving the usual high tech gift or a gift card why not try something a little more meaningful? Why not Give a Gift of Nostalgia this Holiday Season!
When wrapping those gifts from the past why don't you put on some great Christmas movies, find one from any category, comedy, drama from my list of The Best Christmas Movies by Category
Finally don't forget to enjoy the season and taken in every moment you can check out some of my cool photos from Christmases past with Christmas Memories through Photos

JT Walters is a great writer on Hubpages. I follow her and enjoy reading and commenting on her work. Today she wrote an article about another milestone in which she has gotten 200 followers. So of course being the kind person she is, she paid respect to a number of her followers that she feels contribute to her work and I was one of them! Since she recommended me to all her followers i figured i would give her a shout out on my blog! Check out her article in the link below and look for BWD316 (me) and i highly recommend reading some of her other stuff, she covers a plethora of topics!

Hubpage article on Power Supply
With the record breaking power outages of the past few months, especially here in Connecticut, I have begun to question the way we supply power to communities. In the linked article below I propose the idea of decentralizing power generation to prevent such long lasting power outages. Some proposals even use alternative energy sources.

Hubpages November Contest!
Hubpages has contests every so often and for the month of November the Contest was Poem, Fiction and Photography. It was called The HubPatron of the arts Contest. If you would like to
join Hubpages its a great communtiy for writers and artist to share work and make some money off of it! I submitted a number of entries into the contest, the only requirement being that each Hub (article) be 500 words, in the right section of the website, and include a photograph. Majority of my submissions were in the photograph section but I also submitted a number of very short stories as well. I wanted to dabble in poetry but didn't get the chance. So here are my entries below! Hope they are enjoyable!

Make money on webanswers.com!
I recently stumbled across a website that's not only interesting to use but pays out pretty well. All you have to do is have a google AdSense account and answer a few questions every now and then. It's like participating in a forum and getting paid. The more quality your answer has and the more information it has the more percentage of clicked ad revenue you receive. The more questions you answer the more chance you have at making more money. I only started in the beginning of October yet I've made cents, even over a dollar a day for the whole month! If you're looking to make a few extra bucks or help put you over the AdSense payout threshold i suggest you join Webanswers

Hubpages Photo Contest!
The hubpage contest this month is fiction, poetry and photos, the idea is to make a hub in the correct category and have the chance to win hundreds of dollars, even publication at the end of the month. It's as simple as opening a Hubpages account and creating your hub! I've created two photo hubs that qualify for the contest so far, links below. The other great thing is everyday they randomly choose any hub enter in the contest to win $50! It's a lottery within a contest!

Finally I wrote a hub about a children's book i read as a child and my search for it for years. The article was called Nostalgia: Finding the book that defined my childhood.

That means the calender year of 2011 will not see one new Mad Men episode! If your a fan of the show you might be feeling the impacts: Do you have Mad Men Withdrawal?

Hubpages Articles
I've written a number of Hubpages articles in the last week and want to share some of them!
The first three is a new Extreme Weather series I'm doing, following the extreme snow, ice, rain and tropical weather Connecticut has seen just since January 2011!
Extreme Weather Series: Crazy Weather in Connecticut 2011 Photos Included
Extreme Weather Series: Once in a 100 year Snow Cover: Connecticut January 2011
Extreme Weather Series: Ice Storm: Connecticut Groundhog Day 2011
Then I wrote an article about what to watch to try to substitute for the absence of True Blood in between seasons, mostly supernatural related television shows, none as good as True Blood but still interesting!
#waitingsucks What to watch in True Blood's Off Season Fangover
Then i wrote another hub on entertainment. This time on recommendations of what movies to watch during a blizzard.
Movies to watch during a blizzard
and finally an article more geared to Hubbers but also anyone who wants some quick traffic to their hubs, sites, or blogs!

Irene's aftermath
Here are some photos i took with my cell phone visiting a family friend by the beach in Milford, CT. Lucky for a friend they were on the calmer shore and only saw minimal damage, however as you can see above others were not as lucky. The first two pictures clearly show that these homes were devastated, whole fronts of homes torn off into the sound. With the flooding in Vermont, the coastal damage in Connecticut, tornadoes in the Joplin and Tuscaloosa earlier this year, wild fires and the possibility of extreme flooding along the gulf coast in the coming days FEMA and Red Cross are being stretched thin!
Here are some ways you can help!

I'm writing an article about the Great New England Hurricane of 1938, which my grandmother lived through, an article on the media and oil spills, a particular vacation spot, possibly something to do with the evolving vampire genera in pop culture, and a movie review. Hopefully I'll have some done by the end of the weekend, if not by next week. I also want to add some pics to the blog, maybe I'll take some just for my blog as well as stock photos.
