Hubpages Articles
I've written a number of Hubpages articles in the last week and want to share some of them!
The first three is a new Extreme Weather series I'm doing, following the extreme snow, ice, rain and tropical weather Connecticut has seen just since January 2011!
Extreme Weather Series: Crazy Weather in Connecticut 2011 Photos Included
Extreme Weather Series: Once in a 100 year Snow Cover: Connecticut January 2011
Extreme Weather Series: Ice Storm: Connecticut Groundhog Day 2011
Then I wrote an article about what to watch to try to substitute for the absence of True Blood in between seasons, mostly supernatural related television shows, none as good as True Blood but still interesting!
#waitingsucks What to watch in True Blood's Off Season Fangover
Then i wrote another hub on entertainment. This time on recommendations of what movies to watch during a blizzard.

and finally an article more geared to Hubbers but also anyone who wants some quick traffic to their hubs, sites, or blogs!

Statue of Liberty Photo
a picture from Lower Manhattan, looking over the Hudson, across the Harbor to a sail boat and the Statue of liberty. Due to the Hazy day I thought it would look better to put the photo up in black and white.

Freedom Tower NYC
Going through photos from I took at the end of August in downtown Manhattan, I just realized i had gotten a few photos of the new Freedom Tower, which is being built in the World Trade Center location. I thought it was appropiate to share these photos this weekend. The tower is in the distance and it was hazy that day so you migh have to zoom in!

Abandoned Hotel in NYC
Photo i took in August of what seems to be an abandoned old Hotel, thought the sign was so cool! Especially since everything around it seemed so new. Looks like a good photo for Halloween too!

Hurricane Irene vs. Hurricane Gloria in Photos!
A week after Hurricane Irene made it's presence known here in coastal Connecticut, i found photographs my father took while on patrol in Hurricane Gloria in 1985. Although i have seen them a bunch of times in my life i was surprised by the similarities to the photographs i took last week during Irene. so take a look at all of them at hubpages:

New Hub on Hubpages!
Just wrote a brief hub on a topic that seems to bother me a lot when people misuse or confuse the terms. Im talking about hail and sleet, as a self proclaimed weather geek, i find it irratating when people transpose hail and sleet over and over again! so here i wrote a brief description of how both hail and sleet form and what the differences are. take a look!
Hail or Sleet? There is a differenc!

Irene's aftermath
Here are some photos i took with my cell phone visiting a family friend by the beach in Milford, CT. Lucky for a friend they were on the calmer shore and only saw minimal damage, however as you can see above others were not as lucky. The first two pictures clearly show that these homes were devastated, whole fronts of homes torn off into the sound. With the flooding in Vermont, the coastal damage in Connecticut, tornadoes in the Joplin and Tuscaloosa earlier this year, wild fires and the possibility of extreme flooding along the gulf coast in the coming days FEMA and Red Cross are being stretched thin!
Here are some ways you can help!
American Red Cross donate or volunteer some time!
and don't forget the pets! The Humane Society
