Since she recommended me to all her followers i figured i would give her a shout out on my blog! Check out her article in the link below and look for BWD316 (me) and i highly recommend reading some of her other stuff, she covers a plethora of topics!

Community Suspended from the Spring Semester at NBC!

I was totally blindsided by NBC's Spring 2012 schedule, I was expecting to be happy with the return of 30 Rock, which airs Jan 12th, but was slapped in the face by the absence of Community in the schedule! If you watch the study group at Greendale every week read this article to find out about the new suspension!

Hubpage article on Power Supply

With the record breaking power outages of the past few months, especially here in Connecticut, I have begun to question the way we supply power to communities. In the linked article below I propose the idea of decentralizing power generation to prevent such long lasting power outages. Some proposals even use alternative energy sources.

Hubpages November Contest!

Hubpages has contests every so often and for the month of November the Contest was Poem, Fiction and Photography.  It was called The HubPatron of the arts Contest.  If you would like to
join Hubpages its a great communtiy for writers and artist to share work and make some money off of it!  I submitted a number of entries into the contest, the only requirement being that each Hub (article) be 500 words, in the right section of the website, and include a photograph.  Majority of my submissions were in the photograph section but I also submitted a number of very short stories as well.  I wanted to dabble in poetry but didn't get the chance.  So here are my entries below!  Hope they are enjoyable!

Make money on webanswers.com!

I recently stumbled  across a website that's not only interesting to use but pays out pretty well. All you have to do is have a google AdSense account and answer a few questions every now and then.  It's like participating in a forum and getting paid.  The more quality your answer has and the more information it has the more percentage of clicked ad revenue you receive.  The more questions you answer the more chance you have at making more money. I only started in the beginning of October yet I've made cents, even over a dollar a day for the whole month!  If you're looking to make a few extra bucks or help put you over the AdSense payout threshold i suggest you  join Webanswers

Recent Hubpage articles

Here are some links to my most recent hubpage articles which covers an older movie review in relation to today's politics, a simple holiday appetizer recipe and photos from the historic October snowstorm in New England.

Hubpages Photo Contest!

The hubpage contest this month is fiction, poetry and photos, the idea is to make a hub in the correct category and have the chance to win hundreds of dollars, even publication at the end of the month.  It's as simple as opening a Hubpages account and creating your hub!  I've created two photo hubs that qualify for the contest so far, links below.  The other great thing is everyday they randomly choose any hub enter in the contest to win $50!  It's a lottery within a contest!

I have uploaded a number of articles on Hubpages recently, covering a number of topics from hurricanes to children's books and food of Ocean City.  I wrote a hub on Great Hurricane Books, which gives suggestions on what to read in regards to the topic of hurricane and United States history.  The next hub I wrote is a list of the Best Food in Ocean City, MD.  It covers everything from candy to seafood, to boardwalk food.  Finally I wrote a hub about a children's book i read as a child and my search for it for years.  The article was called Nostalgia: Finding the book that defined my childhood

Do you have Mad Men Withdrawal?

It's been a year since there has been a new episode of Mad Men.  With tense contract negotiations back in the spring production of the fifth season has  been delayed will not air till 2012!  That means the calender year of 2011 will not see one new Mad Men episode!  If your a fan of the show you might be feeling the impacts:  Do you have Mad Men Withdrawal?

Over the last few days i’ve written two hubs on hubpages about environmental themes in particular media. One article was about the new show on Fox channel called Terra Nova. The second one is about the environmental themes prevalent in the blockbuster movie Avatar. The article about the new show Terra Nova is especially interesting!

Hurricane Irene vs. Hurricane Gloria in Photos!

A week after Hurricane Irene made it's presence known here in coastal Connecticut, i found photographs my father took while on patrol in Hurricane Gloria in 1985.  Although i have seen them a bunch of times in my life i was surprised by the similarities to the photographs i took last week during Irene.  so take a look at all of them at hubpages:

New Hub on Hubpages!

Irene shreds American Flag

Here's a photo i took of an American Flag still hanging on after weathering Hurrican Irene!!

Irene's aftermath

Here are some photos i took with my cell phone visiting a family friend by the beach in Milford, CT.  Lucky for a friend they were on the calmer shore and only saw minimal damage, however as you can see above others were not as lucky.  The first two pictures clearly show that these homes were devastated, whole fronts of homes torn off into the sound.  With the flooding in Vermont, the coastal damage in Connecticut, tornadoes in the Joplin and Tuscaloosa earlier this year, wild fires and the possibility of extreme flooding along the gulf coast in the coming days FEMA and Red Cross are being stretched thin!
Here are some ways you can help!

A photo I took in Central Park this spring by the baseball fields.  I noticed a small puddle in the grass and realized you could see the reflection of some of the skyscrapers to the south of the park.  It caught my eye.

upcoming hubpage articles

I'm working on a number of articles and ideas right now for Hubpages.  So here's a preview! I'm writing an article about the Great New England Hurricane of 1938, which my grandmother lived through, an article on the media and oil spills, a particular vacation spot, possibly something to do with the evolving vampire genera in pop culture, and a movie review.  Hopefully I'll have some done by the end of the weekend, if not by next week.  I also want to add some pics to the blog, maybe I'll take some just for my blog as well as stock photos.

Backyard bird

Was out in my backyard and turned around to see this bird sitting on a branch.  I got within a foot of the bird and it still didn't move, so i pulled out my phone (hence the quality of the pic)  and took a few pics. It was interesting that th bird just sat there for a while like the phone 8 inches away from him was no big deal!
